As well as the full brass band, RAF St Athan Voluntary Band are able to offer more specialised ensembles to cater for every occaission.

Small Ensembles

From a ten to fifteen piece small band to a quartet or quintet, the band are able to provide just the right group to fit your space or needs.  These ensembles can be engaged to make an event just that bit different and special.  We have performed at Birthday Parties, Garden Parties, Weddings, Dinners and even special events in Pubs!

Fanfare Trumpet Team

The band has a team of fanfare trumpeters available to make an occasion a bit more memorable.  We have performed at Awards Ceremonies, Formal Dinners, Weddings and Sporting Events.  If you want to make a special entrance or an unmissable announcement, the trumperters can ensure you have your guests' full attention!

The trumpeters can be engaged on their own or with the band or smaller ensemble.

RAF St Athan Corps of Drums

Accompanying the RAF St Athan Voluntary Band at many engagements is the very professional RAF St Athan Corps of Drums. Formed in 1988 by Alan Bourne and under the guidance of Derrick White, the Corps of Drums co-ordinates the role of parade Side Drummer. The Corps of Drums meet every Tuesday evening to learn more and rehearse the marches and ceremonial repertoire used by the Band at engagements.
